David Weinberg: Mr. Wild's Garden

The photographic narrative series Mr. Wild’s Garden recalls an elderly neighbor from the artist’s childhood who was isolated in a dilapidated house, concealed among overgrown weeds. The allure behind this mysterious man serves as catalyst to explore who he may have been by looking at the world through his eyes. Recounting the neighbor’s imagined life, the images challenge ideas of perception filtered by experience and faded memory, while what was once fact muddles into fiction. These photographs create a haunting presence while working to blur the line between dreamlike wonder and dark fantasy.
